Patient Testimonials:

  • "As a longstanding patient of Dr. Olivar, I speak confidently about his dedication to his practice, his excellent bedside manner, and his strong commitment to responsible practices.  Over fourteen years ago, I sought Dr. Olivar’s care for infertility treatment.  Since that time, I have continued to see him for routine gynecological care and surgery unrelated to fertility treatment and for the ongoing management of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). When dealing with the emotions and struggles of infertility, it made all the difference in the world to have a doctor who was compassionate, truly listened, answered all of my questions and took the time to explain everything in layman’s terms.   He designed treatments for me that reflected the most up-to-date research and that had the highest potential for success, while respecting ethical considerations that often arise in the field of reproductive medicine. Beyond treatment for infertility, Dr. Olivar has remained committed to helping me manage symptoms of PCOS and maintain my overall health. Whether in the context of a short office visit or in the more foreboding atmosphere of the operating room, his professional expertise, his strong care for and devotion to patients, and his true affinity for his profession are always profoundly evident."  - Cathy W. • "I first began treatment with Dr. Olivar in early 1990 after having been in fertility treatments with a Boston based clinic for over two years with no success.  My husband, Steve, and I had gone to meet with Dr. Olivar after feeling as though the doctors in Boston had “given up” and had begun treating us like a number, not like individuals.  They had even started to discuss with us the possibility that we should start thinking about “other alternatives”.  After our first meeting with Dr. Olivar, it became quite clear that he was very up to date on all the treatments and various options that were still available to us and began to discuss with us a very detailed treatment plan, giving us continued hope.  From the very first day entering his office, Dr. Olivar and his staff were warm and caring and always treated with us the utmost respect and courtesy. Thanks to Dr. Olivar, we have two beautiful children, a son who is now 17 years old and a daughter who is 15 years old. My treatment with Dr. Olivar did not end there.  Several years after the birth of my children I was diagnosed with severe cysts on my ovaries due to endometriosis.  Dr. Olivar had already performed three laproscopic surgeries on me in the past to enable me to conceive my children (as well as having had one previously in Boston for a total of 4), but the surgeries caused major scar tissue to form.  My OB told me he was going to have to perform major surgery to remove the cysts, causing me to be out of work for up to 6 weeks. He did not feel he could do the surgery laproscopically due to the risk from all the scar tissue from my previous surgeries.  I went back to see Dr. Olivar and he was able to do the surgery laproscopically due to his extensive experience with that type of surgery, and I was back at work in within 4 days. Dr. Olivar has also helped me through the very difficult symptoms and emotional effects that came with early menopause caused by the multiple surgeries, something other doctors were unable to do.  His continued knowledge in the field of women’s health has been immensely helpful to me for over 20 years and I would not hesitate to recommend him to any woman seeking treatment." - Lori H. • "Transformation of a journey was my experience in working with Dr. Olivar. For seven years I wandered from physician to physician looking for a match.  One who understood my plight, was knowledgeable about severe Endometriosis partnered with infertility, could guide, assure, listen, provide options, and was up to date with the latest research and medical technology.  A long list to measure up to but Dr. Olivar met and exceeded those qualities.  After disappointments and many hospital stays I walked into Doctor Olivar’s care, a welcoming experience for my husband and I.  Immediately my journey’s focus changed from infertility to self wellness.  Taking care of my health in order to produce a positive fertile experience was the aim.  Dr. Olivar worked tirelessly committed to my eight hour surgery.  He established his team, whom I met with prior and performed a miraculous change in my life that day.  His work was meticulous, careful and precise as he performed his art.  My husband and I were confident I was in good hands under Doctor Olivar’s care.  His compassion through the entire journey made a world of difference in achieving my wellness goal and family plan.  Today I am of f and running, pain free, living life to the fullest, and enjoying my little prince and princess my husband and I adopted.  I couldn’t imagine life any other way.  My husband and I are forever grateful to our wonderful Doctor Olivar.  To us he is one of a kind, a catch and a find.  Thank you for showing us the way Doctor Olivar.  We love you." - Diane J.
